Jonathan L. Friedmann is Professor of Jewish Music History at the Academy for Jewish Religion California, Director of the Jewish Museum of the American West, President of the Western States Jewish History Association, and cohost of Amusing Jews, a YouTube/podcast interview show celebrating Jewish contributors and contributions to American popular culture. He is the author or editor of over thirty books, including Goliath as Gentle Giant: Sympathetic Portrayals in Popular Culture and Kinnor: The Biblical Lyre in History, Thought, and Culture.
