Zal´muhn
1 A member of David’s elite group of fighting men (2Sam 23:28); he is also called Ilai (1Chr 11:29). 2 A mountain near Shechem from which Abimelech cut branches with which to burn the Temple of El-berith (Judg 9:48); it is usually identified as a promontory or slope of Mt. Gerizim or Mt. Ebal, which lie on either side of Shechem. 3 An unknown location (Ps 68:14); possibly the same as 2 above, but probably a much higher elevation east of the Jordan toward Mt. Hermon.
